Fairfield Public School has numerous compass programs that run throughout the year. Below are a few amazing things that are happening this year:

Speaking to the potential, ability and resilience inside every kid (SPARK)

SPARK programs mentoring curricula are 3 principles based curricula proven to be effective in helping children and youth create greater academic success, a healthier state of mind and a deeper connection with peers, adults, schools and communities.

SPARK programs use age appropriate content and activities that have been proven to effectively reduce risk around high-school drop-out, drug use, bullying, suicide, depression and anxiety, while building resiliency around academic success, social-emotional skills and healthy relationships.

Fairfield Public School has numerous SPARK programs that run throughout the year. Below are a few amazing things that are happening this year:

  • Year 4 circus program.
  • Kids and blokes event.
  • Welcome dinner SPARKS family.
  • Afternoon programs.

Active after school communities (AASC)

AASC is a federal funded program designed to encourage students to participate in various physical activities. The program runs for 7 weeks per term. At Fairfield Public School, students from Years 1 to Year 6 are given opportunities to be involved in the program.

Session times:

  • Years 1 and 2 — Monday 3:10pm to 4:10pm.
  • Years 3 and 4 — Wednesday  3:10pm to 4:10pm.
  • Years 5 and 6 — Thursday 3:10pm to 4:10pm.

Fitness programs

Go4Fun is a free 10-week healthy lifestyle fitness program for NSW kids aged 7 to 13 who are above a healthy weight. The program focuses on improving:

  • eating habits
  • fitness
  • confidence.

Go4Fun programs are led by trained qualified health professionals and take place after school, running parallel with school terms. Children and their families have fun and become fitter, healthier and happier.
